What is a phone cloud for agents?

A phone cloud for agents is a fleet of real phones in a data center that AI agents control through an API. The agent reads the screen and taps, types and swipes, the way a person would, in any app or in the phone's own browser.

Anything a person does on a phone, an agent can do: work LinkedIn and Reddit, browse the web, shop, book travel and answer messages.

What agents use it for

The jobs teams run on Axilio phones today, from their own accounts and at their own scale.

Why an agent needs a phone

Most of what people do online happens in apps, signed in to their accounts. An API key and a headless browser don't reach it.

2.0Why

01

Most apps have no public API

LinkedIn, Reddit, airline and shopping apps rarely offer an API for what you need. The app itself is the way in.

02

Your accounts live on the phone

A dedicated phone keeps its apps and logins between sessions, so the agent works your accounts the way you would.

03

Apps and the web on one device

The phone has a real browser too, so one agent can move between an app and a website in the same task.

How it works

The agent runs a simple loop on the phone: look at the screen, find what it means, act, and check the result.

3.0Quickstart→
01

Rent a phone

A physical Android phone reserved for your organization. Its apps and state stay on it between sessions.

02

Start a session

One call reserves the phone for your agent. Release it when the work is done.

03

Observe and act

Read the screen, find a target by its text or a plain description, then tap, type or swipe.

04

Watch and replay

Follow any session live, replay its recording, and trace every step afterwards.

Python
from axilio.platform import Client
client = Client()
# Reserve the phone; it's released when the block exits.
with client.session("android", phone_id="ph_123") as driver:
driver.find(query="the search icon").tap()
driver.wait_for_text("Search").type_into("axilio")
driver.key_press("enter")
screen = driver.observe()

4.0Choosing

Compared onWhy it mattersAxilio
Real phones or emulatorsEmulators are cheaper and quick to start. Real phones run apps as built, with a SIM, camera and GPS.Physical Android phones, not emulators.
NetworkApps behave differently on a carrier network than on a data center connection.Carrier networks.
Dedicated or sharedA dedicated phone keeps its apps, logins and settings between sessions.Dedicated phones; state stays on the phone.
Apps and the webMany jobs move between an app and a website.Any Android app, plus the phone's own browser.
How the agent drives itYour agent and your choice of model should be able to call it directly.Python and Go SDKs, the CLI and a REST API: observe, find, tap, type and swipe.
Seeing what happenedYou need to know what the agent did, especially when a step fails.Live view, screen recordings and a step-by-step trace of every session.
PricingPer minute, or a flat price per phone.A flat rental per dedicated phone: $15 a day, $75 a week or $180 a month, unlimited hours.
iPhoneSome jobs only run on iOS.Not available. Android only.

When you don't need one

A phone is the right tool for most jobs a person does on a phone. A few are better done another way.

5.0Alternatives

01

The service has a public API

Call the API. It's faster and cheaper than driving a screen.

02

You test your own app in CI

An emulator or a device-testing cloud is cheaper for running your own test suite on every commit.

03

You need an iPhone

Axilio runs Android phones only.
